1968 Mercury Montego

Description

This is a 1968 mercury Montego MX automatic 302 2bbl original engine and transmission. I had this vehicle since 2009, it has a odometer that after 100k starts over so it looks like 16,000 miles but its 116,000 plus. The oil pressure light came on and i drove it about 2 miles the engine stalled out, tried to restart 5 times and it wouldn’t start. Im assuming the low oil pressure might have damaged the engine but i haven’t bothered to try to jump the battery. It may just need an oil pump to work again or may need engine work. Car is pretty solid for its age and i will start the auction way below the low retail prices. It is located and ready for tow pickup in Jamaica, NY in zip code 11436 . Great car to have the muscle look and customize whatever you want.
pros:Car had the carburetor changed within the last 4000 miles, has true dual flowmaster dual exhaust, replaced master cylinder, most of front end is replaced (ball joints tie rod, sway bar links etc ), radiator and water pump replaced at 111k ,transmission works fine . rear brake shoes, and brake lines has been replaced. has led headlights and front seats was recovered. working radio with aux input.
Cons:car needs paint job , has rusting over fender lip (see picture) can easily be grinded and painted, around back glass has rust around glass has to be grinded out and painted and under the car is in good condition for a 68. Not currently starting (but was cranking) due to dead battery or some sort of engine damage due to driving with low oil. Missing switch knob for window wipers and will need new tires.the first pic was when I bought it in 2009. 500 dollar deposit must be sent by paypal, zelle, cashapp or venmo within 48 hours the rest of the payment can be given on pick up or cashiers check. has a clean title (cars in nyc pre 1972 have a transferable registration and not an actual title). selling car way below low market value which i have also included in the pics. please zoom in photos as they are collages.
